Fact: There is only one thing better than a Jennifer Lawrence film, and that's a Jennifer Lawrence period film. The wardrobe, the hair, the imagining that J.Law could've been your coolest best friend in any decade—it's magical. Like in the just released trailer for Depression-era romantic drama Serena, a movie J.Law filmed in 2012 that's been tied up in post-production since then.

Usually when a movie stalls that long after filming, it's a sign something's wrong (as was the case with this year's Nicole Kidman-starring Grace of Monaco, which totally flopped). While most of Serena's plot seems to revolve around J.Law falling in love with Bradley Cooper (familiar, yes), the flapper hair, fur stoles, and general Prohibition-era chic (is that a thing?) are a new look for her:

And she looks fantastic. Pity, then, that the movie has yet to pin down a U.S. release date, because I'd still see it even if it completely tanks. J.Law is giving me Daisy Buchanan goes glamping at Cold Mountain, and I am into it. (How could I not be?)
