If anyone were to take a look through my iPhone, they'd think I was addicted to #selfies. But in my defense, they're not for me. They're a side effect of being married to a stylist.

You see, as one part of a style-obsessed couple, there are a number of fashion moments that have become a part of my daily routine—and I'm not sure they occur for other couples. Case one: outfit evidence. My husband travels a lot for work, and when he's not around to see what I'm wearing that day, I send him a pic. Normally two pics: one with my outerwear, bag and sunglasses, and another of how I'll look at the office after losing the coat. There are plenty of other fashion rules we abide by; I couldn't live without a lint roller or steamer, and as such you'll never see me with a creased shirt or linty sweater—and that goes for a blazer or t-shirt as well. Our tailor is our best friend, and I assume we're some of her best customers. I've also come to accept fashion criticism. He no doubt has better taste than me (I even sent a shot of my wedding dress to him before purchasing to avoid any disappointment when I walked down the aisle), and if he suggests a better shoe or jacket option for my outfit, I change immediately.

It nearly goes without saying, my fashion game has improved in leaps and bounds since we got together. Not only have I received incredible gifts from someone who has exquisite taste (and unlike other guys appreciates the value of a Chanel handbag and pricey footwear), but also his understanding of cut, proportions, and what is both seasonally appropriate and timeless has rubbed off on me. If there's a sample sale, I won't attend without him or better yet, will ask him to go in my stead (the last time this happened, he surprised me with a stunning pair of Christian Louboutin heels). He's talked me out of bad fashion purchases (remember that floral trouser trend?), and also persuaded me to consider items that I normally balk at, but later on fall in love with.

Believe me, I know how lucky I am. Not often does a man understand a love for clothes, shoes, bags and jewels, but also supports the purchase. And when it comes to Christmas and birthdays? Best. Gifts. Ever.
